Santa Lie scoops awards at ProFire

We’re so incredibly proud to announce that our short The Santa Lie has picked up two awards at the 2013 ProFire Short Film Festival held in Scotland in early December.

Seven-year-old lead Claudia Jean Lewis picked up the Best Actress award and the film itself grabbed the Special award for Comedy meets Reality. The awards are chosen by a panel of professional filmmakers and actors from all over Scotland. The full list of awards can be viewed on the ProFire website.

ProFiRe Short Film Festival is in its second year and promotes films from all around the globe. The festival runs events at a number of venues in and around Edinburgh in early December. More info can be found at their website.

The awards follow on from recent official selection at the Adelaide Kids Film Festival, a special screening at AMC Manchester to support the premiere of Sophie’s Fortune, a screening at 3MT’s Awards Night in Manchester and acceptance to the online IndieFlix platform.

“I’m just so so pleased for everyone involved in the film. I never thought this little film would do so well and I’m just dead proud of everyone – especially Claudia, ” says Director Darren Langlands.

Written and Directed by Darren Langlands, the film tells the story of a little girl who confronts her parents on the truth about Santa early one Christmas morning.

It is currently available to stream, download and purchase from Indieflix.
